Together, you'll explore the beauty of the natural world and capture your observations through drawing and writing. This is a workshop is designed for both the absolute beginners and those more experienced painters desiring a refresher in basic watercolor techniques.  Learn to avoid common problems in watercolor and gain an introduction to exciting wet-into-wet techniques that make paintings sing.  The flexible curriculum adapts to attendee needs, encouraging growth and addressing individual artistic challenges, to keep you painting long after the workshop ends. Please plan to purchase your art supplies in advance of the workshop.

Join in this unique opportunity for watercolor painters at all levels to take the next step in their watercolor paintings. The exact curriculum will be determined by the needs and interests to those who sign up for the workshop. Designed for beginners to expert painters, each day will include shared technique demos and individual feedback to move your paintings forward. The option to explore using watercolor effectively on nonabsorbent substrates such as Aquabord and watercolor canvas will be included, as well as how to mount and seal watercolors for display without using mats or glass. 
Bring your favorite watercolor supplies and paper. (Nonabsorbent painting surfaces and sealing materials will be provided.)

Watercolor: A Fresh Start Immersive at Björklunden
Designed for absolute beginners as well as for those who have had some experience painting with watercolor but need a refresher to gain the confidence to start again. Plan to enjoy this opportunity to learn or re-learn watercolor. Participants will explore basic traditional approaches to watercolor painting as well as fresh and experimental wet-into-wet watercolor techniques. This two and a half day immersion introduces with the skills and tools to keep on painting when you go home.
